Raise the Roof Fundraising Campaign |
The AWCI Board began a " Raise the Roof" campaign to raise $670,000 to build a 10,000 square foot permanent high strength aluminum alloy structure with Tevlar coating allowing for unmatched UV, chemical and weather resistance over the pool area.
During the harsh winters of 2009 through 2011, the original inflatable polyvinyl dome roof structure over the aquatic facilities deflated four times during power outages and sustained high winds, ice and snow accumulations. Tears from these deflations have compromised the structural integrity and energy efficiency of the dome.
Currently, the AWCI Board has raised over $466,000 toward the construction of a permanent structure over the pool. Construction of the permanent structure has been delayed until 2012 in order to meet our fundraising goal. AWCI programs serve children, juniors, adults, and senior citizens as they work to maintain healthy lifestyles. Our AWCI pool is an important part of our community and our Wellness activities.

AWCI Annual Rummage Sale
AWCI Rummage Sale items include booths offering kitchen items, household goods including decorative pillows and bedding, office equipment, furniture, lamps, auction items, books and games, garden plants, sculptures, outdoor furniture, tools, sports equipment, ping pong tables, golf clubs, bikes, children's clothes, toys, scooters, bikes, outdoor toys, antiques, and more. Donations and auction items can be brought to the Wellness Center. To schedule a time for pick up of donations of large items, please call AWCI at 336-372-2944.

AWCI Child Care Room
AWCI provides 2 volunteers to staff the Child Care Room on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:15 PM to 5:00 PM.
This service is free to Members and Non-Members while visiting the Wellness Center during these hours of operation.
