AWCI MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Alleghany Wellness Center Inc. is to provide the people of Alleghany County and surrounding areas the opportunity to achieve and maintain healthy lifestyles through health education, medically-supervised programs, and facilities for physical activities and recreation.
Alleghany Wellness Center is bringing you the NINJA CAMP HALLOWEEN PARTY to be held from Saturday, October 29th starting at 6 PM through Sunday October 30th ending at 9 AM. Eat In/Take Out AWCI Lunch - Wednesday Nov 9th 11 am to 1 pm, Lunch $10.00 (What a deal!). Soup or Chili - Salad - Bread - Dessert. Help support Raise the Roof (over the pool!) Also we need your help if you would like to volunteer to make up a large batch of Chili - we could use the help. Contact the front desk at AWCI if you can help.
AWCI is looking for volunteer swim instructors. You will be trained by a Water Safety Instructor. Also, we are looking for slightly used life vests for use during our swim classes. Swim classes start Tuesday Oct 18th - Level 1 @ 6 PM, Level 3 @ 6 PM, and Adult Swim @ 6:45 PM. Call AWCI at 372-2944 to sign up. Class meets for 5 weeks (Tuesdays).
The new Tai Chi class will start Wednesday, September 14th. Joe Ward is the instructor, and the class starts at 7:00 PM. Members cost per class $2.00, and Non-Members cost per class $5.00. Remember that AWCI offers the Class Package for those of you who love to take classes here at AWCI.

AWCI will offer Holy Yoga starting Saturday, September 24th. The class will be held at 11:00 AM. Holy Yoga is a gentle form of Yoga (Hatha based). Lynn Garrison-Mullins will teach this class and the cost is $2.00 per class AWCI Members and $5.00 per Class for Non-Members
In support of Raise the Roof Luncheon to be held November 9th from 11 AM to 2 PM, we are raffling off the following items:
Tool Box, Bird House and Magazine Rack built by Tom Atwood. Autunm Floral Arrangement by Holly Bevins, Old Glory Watercolor Painting by Sharlotte Smith.
The drawing for these items will be held the day of the Raise the Roof Luncheon, November 9th. We will also be raffling off tickets for fresh Christmas Trees and Wreaths and the drawing will be held on November 29, 2011.
